This non-profit group held a competition to design and build street furniture that can be distributed to vacant sites and parks throughout the city in order to “repurpose these empty spaces and imagine for ourselves a better streetscape”. My response was to create a series of tanks to capture stormwater from neighboring roofs and reuse it for community gardens, rain gardens, bioretention ponds, and landscaped water features.
