Rainwater Mitigation, 2010 The non-profit organization Architecture for Humanity hosted a competition to design alternative uses for the multitude of small, undeveloped urban parcels. This solution addresses the problem of storm surges that overwhelm the capacity of water treatment facilities.

Cleveland Lakefront Station, 2009 The City of Cleveland was interested in building a multi-modal transportation center that would support high-speed rail, bus & automobile traffic, and pedestrian access. Studio Petrone designed a building that would act not only as a roof over the rail platforms but also as park space that would allow pedestrian access from the downtown to the lakefront.

Elysian Park Gateway, 2002 As part of the renovation to this urban park, The City of Los Angeles sought visual statements to mark the park entrances. My design used the natural forms of the park itself to act as both gate and signage.
